“America is entering a new era which will define our nation for generations to come. How we prepare to serve our aging population is among the most important choices we as Americans can make in the coming years. The American Society on Aging and the professionals it represents understand this and I am honored they have chosen me to receive a 2007 ASA award”…Barbara B. Kennelly, President/CEO

The nation’s two largest professional associations in aging — The American Society on Aging (ASA) and the National Council on Aging (NCOA) — will host more than four thousand aging services providers and professionals at this year’s March 7th -10th national conference themed “Let’s Rethink Aging”.

“We must ensure senior safety net programs like Social Security and Medicare are not dismantled in the name of ‘reform’; especially now, as more Americans retire and will depend on them. Our goal should be strengthening these vital programs rather than destroying them through privatization.”
