NCOA Needs Elder Abuse Stories

The National Council on Aging, an advocacy and service organization based in DC, and WITNESS, an international human rights organization that uses video to advocate on key issues, have joined the fight to pass the Elder Justice Act in Congress this year. They are looking for DC area elders or elder advocates who have stories to share on video and who can be taped when a film crew will be in town. The personal stories can be made private through lighting and other special techniques WITNESS has developed in filming sensitive issues around the world. If you know of someone whose story should be told, please contact Scott Parkin, a consultant to NCOA, by e-mail (scott.parkin@ncoa.org) or by phone 703.975.1769. Check out www.elderjusticenow.com  to see what the two organizations have already done on this important issue.
