What's Special About the Wentworth?

The Wentworth, founded in 1899, maintains its historical mission: “to be an abiding place where individuals may obtain, at a moderate cost, all the needful comforts of a home.”

Our Location: Two blocks from the heart of downtown West Chester, The Wentworth gives residents easy access to specialty shopping, pharmacies, restaurants, and professional services.

Our Residents: The women and men who live at The Wentworth have varied backgrounds and interests to share, show enthusiasm in their daily lives, and enrich the community around them.

Our Gardens: Throughout the year, the surrounding gardens—tended by residents and volunteers—showcase flowers, plants and vegetables that appear frequently on the dining tables.

Our Meals: Three meals a day are home-cooked under the supervision of head chef, Barbara; tantalizing aromas from the kitchen always fill The Wentworth.
