Join our rally to stop elder abuse! Kick off World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, June 15, with a rally at the Towson Library, Lower Level, 320 York Road, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Our theme is “Protecting Seniors and Vulnerable Adults from Financial Exploitation.” Jamie Costello of WMAR-2 will be our Master of Ceremonies, and Marceline White, Executive Director of the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition, will be our keynote speaker. Come and be inspired! Free gifts, entertainment, and exhibits. Wear purple, the color for elder abuse prevention. After the rally, 1:15 – 2:15 p.m. at the same location, will be a one-hour seminar designed for professionals, entitled, “Betrayal of Trust: The Impact of Financial Exploitation on Vulnerable Adults.” 1 Category I CEU for Social Workers for the seminar (pre-registration required.) Both events are presented by Baltimore County Restoring Elder Safety Today, (BC-REST), a coalition to prevent elder abuse, and sponsored by AARP-MD.
