Increasingly we hear a diagnosis of DIABETES.  Diabetes is manageable.  Providence Hospital has partnered with the Joslin Diabetes Center and the hospital’s new Josline Diabetes Clinic to go “On the Road” with information about the disease.  These are FREE programs open to persons with diabetes, those at risk for diabetes and for those interested in learning more.  The Providence Hospital “On the Road” Diabetes Program will be offered at Friendship Terrace Retirement Community on Monday, December 16th from 11:00AM to NOON.  There will be FREE A1C diabetes testing, blood pressure testing, and information sessions.  FREE gifts will include drawstring bags, pedometers, exercise DVD’s, resistance bands, pill boxes and lunch bags.  Light snacks will be provided.  For more information call Friendship Terrace at 202-244-7400.  Seabury at Friendship Terrace Retirement Community is located at 4201 Butterworth Place, NW in Washington, DC, just two blocks from the Tenleytown Metro station on the Red Line.  Seabury at Friendship Terrace provides 180 affordable, independent living apartments for active seniors.
