This exciting workshop is intended for counselors, mediators, clergy, social workers, family caregivers of seniors, and any other persons interested in the well being of aging population. CEU’s will be offered to professionals. Cost is $35 to those needing CEU’s. Free to all others.

The overall goal is to increase participants’ understanding of depression in older adults and its impact on society; and identify strategies for earlier detection, intervention, treatment, and healing.

Topics include:
• Risk factors and scope of the issue
• Symptoms, types, causes of depression in the elderly: what are strategies for early detection?
•Things every family caregiver & supporter of seniors should know including prevention of caregiver depression
•Self Care & Professional Treatment Options
•Strategies to overcome treatment barriers
