TO BE KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT
FRIENDSHIP TERRACE VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH

(Washington, D.C.) – Seabury at Friendship Terrace Retirement Community is pleased to announce that District of Columbia Councilmember Mary Cheh (Ward 3) will be the featured speaker this Sunday, November 11th for the Friendship Terrace Veterans Day celebration.

As a part of the weekly Sunday Brunch from 1 to 3 PM, residents of Friendship Terrace who are veterans will be given special recognition at 2:00 PM with featured comments from Councilmember Cheh and a presentation from her to the Resident Council of a District of Columbia flag to be displayed next to the United States flag presented July 4th by D.C. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.

“This is a special time for our residents. We are so pleased that Councilmember Cheh is able to be with us to honor those who have served and to present to our Resident Council the District of Columbia flag. We will display it with pride,” said Administrator Eileen Anatra.

The Friendship Terrace Retirement Community’s Veterans Program begins at 2:00 PM. It will include the featured comments of D.C. Councilmember Cheh, a special recognition of residents who are veterans and a community sing-along of patriotic songs led by Director of Marketing Chuck Thornton.

The program is open to the public. Guest tickets for the Sunday Brunch at Friendship Terrace are $10.00 a person and are available at the Front Desk on Sunday.

Seabury at Friendship Terrace Retirement Community, a part of Seabury Resources for Aging, is located in Ward 3 at 4201 Butterworth Place, NW in Washington, DC, just two blocks from the Tenleytown Metro Station.
