Many of my new friends at this "retirement" community are enjoying the luxuries of prepared meals, special activities, housekeeping, etc. This group is composed of 80 and 90 year olds who feel that although we could continue to shop for food, prepare it and clean afterwards, just don't. We were eating leftovers and fast foods,, driving to shop when we shouldn't have been driving anymore (especially in the snow), using only 2 or 3 rooms of our family houses (alone, usually) and looking for more. In my case having the availability of nursing care, etc., made my children quite happy, although I am quite active in this full care community.
