What if a retirement community opened its doors to a family with a parent in Iraq?

Imagine that you just found out your spouse was going to be deployed overseas for the next year. Imagine how this feels to a child faced with a transition like this. I found an interesting article on a camp that helps children in this transition.

I think that there might be a lot of common bonds that a family like this would have with residents of a senior living community. What if there was a way to let a family live in a community during their deployment? I think that a move like this could add purpose to all who are involved.

I know there are a lot of reasons why it can’t work – however, to me it makes more sense than what I see people going through right now.
