Study: Canadians Feel Sandwiched Between Kids and Elders

Four in ten (39%) Canadians in the Sandwich Generation feel torn between providing financial support for their aging parents and paying for their children’s higher education, according to a survey commissioned by Credit Canada and Capital One Canada.

Fully 40% of 830 Canadians polled in September are worried they’ll have to borrow money to meet both obligations. For those already supporting both generations, 25% believe their children have been negatively impacted because of the extra money and time spent on the parents.
