The Baltimore County Department of Aging and Commission on Aging’s Annual Senior Solutions Conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 4, 8 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center. Co-sponsors are Sheppard Pratt Health System and Johns Hopkins Geriatric Education Center. The topic is “Use, Misuse, Abuse: Mysteries and Surprises of Food, Drugs and Alcohol”. The keynote presentation is “A New Generation of Substance Abusers: Impact of Aging Baby Boomers on the Future of Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention”. Other topics include “Alcohol, Marijuana and More-Abuse of Recreational Drugs”, “Using Medications Wisely-When Use of Prescribed and Over-the Counter Drugs Becomes a Problem: am “Legal but Unhealthy-Caffeine, Cigarette and Food Addictions”. CEUs are expected for social workers, nurses and administrators. The cost is $55, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch and CEUs.
