ProAging Members,

I recently received a call from a gentleman who is looking for an Assisted Living Community in the area for his non-English speaking Korean mother-in-law. His name is Wayne Greenberg, his cell phone number is 301-467-7071. Is there anyone that might have some helpful resources for him? Thanks.

I too am faced with the same situation that you have. If you do happen to receive any information, could you please forward it to me? My mother is Korean and is living in an assisted living facility now. However, she is uanable to communicate well in English, and is not able to eat the American style food very well. Could you please send meany information you might have on Korean assisted living facilities in Virginia, Maryland of the District of Columbia in the United States?

Thank you for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

I, too, am looking for a retirement community, on behalf of a friend, where not just caregivers but some residents also speak Korean. As I understand it, in Korea it is standard practice for the elderly to retire into government-run homes. If I have any luck finding such a place here, I’ll share on this site. I’d appreciate the same.

Hello. My mom ran a Korean assisted Living in Ellicott City, the first in maryland. Every meal is freshly prepared and alot of it was grown organically by my mom. Now there are a few in maryland, but here is her number. 410-313-8299. Ask for Eileen. My mother just retired, but my cousin has taken over. There are two large houses next to each other in a quiet and well established neighborhood, and both are part of the facility. Both houses are almost always full, but Eileen should be able to point you in the right direction for your parents. Hope this helps!

  • Hello –

My siblings and I are starting to conduct research on Korean assisted living facilities. My parents are 85 years old and we are faced with a difficult decision. Does anyone happen to know of any facilities in the Houston, TX area?
