People on the Move – Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT
The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT has selected two construction partners to build the continuing care retirement community along Frederick Road in Ellicott City.
Harkins Builders in Marriottsville will be the construction management company overseeing the construction of the apartments, common areas, assisted living and health care center. Williamsburg Homes in Columbia has been selected to build the detached homes and duplexes.
“Harkins has significant expertise in managing construction for senior living projects and Williamsburg Homes has a strong reputation for quality residential construction,” said Roy Chiavacci, executive vice-president at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, the sponsor community for The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT. “We are excited to work with two strong, quality construction partners within the Howard County community to bring The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT to Ellicott City.”
When complete, The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT will be a faith-based, non-profit continuing care retirement community on 50 acres off Frederick Road situated next to the Charles E. Miller Library. Construction will begin 90 days after reaching a pre-construction goal of 168 deposits for residential units as required by law.
Phase I of the project will include 215 apartments, 25 homes and 32 beds for assisted living and skilled nursing care as well as dining venues, a clubhouse with community room, a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, and a serene campus adjacent to the Charles E. Miller Library and the senior center with easy access to cultural activities, shopping and recreation within Ellicott City and greater Howard County.
