People on the Move – Kimberly Nelson
SPRINGFIELD, VA (August 31, 2006) — The Greenspring retirement community is proud to announce the promotion of Kimberly Nelson to Director of Philanthropy. Nelson, who previously held the position of gift planning manager, will take on her new role effective immediately and will begin assembling a staff for her department.
The Director of Philanthropy is a new position created to lead certain charitable giving efforts on campus which will include the Benevolent Care Fund and the Scholars Fund.

Neslon has over 20 years of experience in the field of senior housing and care. Prior to joining Greenspring, Nelson worked in a number of for-profit and non-profit settings which included nursing homes, assisted living, memory impaired, independent living and support group facilities.
Nelson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Miami University of Ohio and national certification from the Assisted Living Federation of America. Nelson is also a consistent winner of Virginia State Health Care Awards for community involvement.
