(Annapolis, MD, May 14, 2007) “” Hospice of the Chesapeake has hired Michael McHale as the organization’s first Chief Operating Officer and Deborah Caldwell as the Vice President of Development.

“I am delighted to announce the addition of Mike McHale and Deborah Caldwell to Hospice of the Chesapeake’s senior leadership. Both individuals have demonstrated remarkable achievement in their health care careers. They demonstrate a passion for hospice that will enable us to care for more patients and families throughout the communities we serve with dignity, compassion and respect,” stated Hospice of the Chesapeake’s President and CEO Erwin Abrams.

Mr. McHale most recently comes from The Washington Home and Community Hospices as the Vice President of Business Development and Sales. Prior to that position, he worked for Hospice of Michigan in Detroit as the Corporate Director of Marketing and Access Services; San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc as the Director of Access Services; and with St. Paul’s Senior Homes & Services, also in San Diego, as the Associate Administrator. Mr. McHale received his undergraduate degree in political science from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA and his graduate degree in health care administration from National University in San Diego, CA. He resides in Silver Spring.

Ms. Caldwell was previously the Assistant Dean of Development for the College of Health and Human Performance at University of Maryland in College Park. Prior to moving to Maryland, she was the Development Director for the Tulane University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA. Ms. Caldwell also served as the Director of Development at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. Ms. Caldwell earned her bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She lives in Annapolis.
