People on the Move – Erickson Opens West Coast Development Office
LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA (April 9, 2007) — Baltimore-based Erickson Retirement Communities, which manages 18 full-service retirement communities in ten states, has opened a development office in Orange County, Calif., to explore and oversee new projects in the Western United States.
“Many retirees have asked us to come to the West Coast,” said Kenneth Rohde, Erickson’s vice president of development services for the Western U.S. “There are currently no full-service retirement communities in Arizona or the West Coast that are even close to what an Erickson community would be.”
Retirement communities developed and managed by Erickson are known for their large size, the fact that they serve the middle-income market, and their wide variety of recreational, educational, social, spiritual, and volunteer opportunities. The company is also recognized for its Erickson HealthSM system, the nation’s largest and most completely integrated healthcare and wellness system for older adults, America’s fastest-growing population.
The company is currently looking at land for possible future sites in the Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Sacramento, and Los Angeles areas. Rohde is also helping with a prospective new Erickson project in Denver.
“I will be handling all development services functions for projects west of Dallas,” said Rohde, an architect with more than 18 years experience creating environments where retirees thrive.
Erickson’s new development office is located at 30101 Town Center Drive, Suite 214, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677.
