People on the Move – Dawn Lamb, Roland Park Place
Roland Park Place (RPP), the only not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Baltimore City, is pleased to announce that one of its Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNA), Dawn Lamb, has been named a top ten “Caring Champion” in the U.S. by Caring.com, a leading online resource for senior care. The Caring Champions program recognizes extraordinary eldercare by professional caregivers of seniors in the U.S.
A 19-year employee of Roland Park Place, Dawn Lamb, GNA was among only ten professional caregivers in the nation to earn the award this year, and was chosen from more than 80 nominees.
Dawn was nominated for this award by Tanya Allen, Director of Health Services at Roland Park Place, who stated, “Dawn is a standout GNA. The positive attitude, exceptional customer service, empathy, patience and dependability she has shown all of Roland Park Place’s residents makes her an outstanding champion caregiver. Dawn’s compassionate and thoughtful technique is evidence of a superior level of elder care service that is unparalleled.”
“We extend our sincere appreciation to Dawn for the quality senior care she is providing to seniors in her care, as described in her nomination story,” said Andy Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Caring.com. “With 83 compelling stories and more than 5,000 social votes, it wasn’t easy to select just ten caregivers to reward with a cash bonus, and we congratulate Dawn for achieving this distinction as one of America’s best professional caregivers.”
Dawn’s nomination story was published on Caring.com in July, and received more than 250 “social votes” on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other social platforms from Caring.com’s online community and Roland Park Place’s residents, families, friends and employees. In addition to counting the social votes, Caring.com’s judging committee also considered the compelling attributes of each senior care story, the volume and sentiment of reader comments and more to select Dawn among the winners.
Roland Park Place offers independent living, residential care (assisted living) and comprehensive/skilled nursing care.
