People on the Move – Care Management Associates
CARE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATES ACQUIRED BY SCOTT THOMPSON
Care Management Associates (CMA), a leading Washington, DC-metropolitan care management firm, has been acquired by Scott Thompson. In conjunction with the transfer, Jackie Lapidus, Psy.D., was named Executive Director of CMA, succeeding Susan Johnson, who founded the company in 1998.
Dr. Lapidus has been a Senior Care Manager with CMA for nine years and most recently served as Clinical Manager. CMA will operate as an independent care management practice under Lapidus’s leadership. CMA’s team of 11 care managers and associate care managers will remain with the team.
Thompson, who also owns the LifeMatters home care company, said, “I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with CMA’s extraordinary team. The company’s unrelenting drive to be ‘best in class’ at providing high-quality care management is what attracted me to it. Under Jackie’s leadership, I know that core mission will be sustained.”
“I feel very good about turning the reins over to Scott and Jackie,” said Johnson. “As a team, they bring the right combination of continuity and new ideas to CMA. I know clients will continue to be well served. Scott’s savvy and technical support capacities will give CMA avenues for delivering ever-better service to clients.”
Johnson has left CMA in order to join her husband in Saudi Arabia, where they are part of the startup of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology on the Red Sea coast north of Jeddah.
