The Wall Street Journal on Thursday examined how thousands of children with disabilities live in nursing homes, even as “the cost to taxpayers, and the strain on families, is much lower” when the child lives at home. Manor Care agrees to Carlyle buyout

TOLEDO, Ohio Manor Care Inc., a provider of short-term post-acute services and long-term care, said Monday its board has approved a takeover by private equity firm Carlyle Group, in an all-cash transaction valued at about $4.9 billion.
