Maryland Nursing Homes Commit to Continuing to Provide Higher Quality of Care

Easton, Maryland, February 21, 2006 — Delmarva Foundation, Medicare’s Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) in Maryland, announced today that 32 nursing homes have committed to a three-year quality improvement program. Nursing homes will work closely with Delmarva to improve quality of life and care for Maryland’s nursing home residents. The focus will be on management of pressure ulcers, physical restraints, depression, and pain.

“This group of nursing homes is truly committed to transforming quality of care,” said Isabella Firth, President, Mid-Atlantic LifeSpan. “All 32 of the nursing homes working with Delmarva Foundation have an opportunity to help nursing home residents live better, more comfortable lives.”
