We would like to invite you, your staff and community residents to participate in a special event in your community. Supported by the Governor’s Department of Aging, the United Seniors of Maryland is holding its Annual Seniors Day to discuss and present the issues and needs of Maryland’s seniors and retirees to our Maryland legislators and government officials. The focus will be on the priority issues established by the United Seniors of Maryland. These priorities are:
USM 2007 Legislative Priorities:

  • Reducing Impacts of Escalating Costs on Seniors with Low and Moderate Incomes
  • Funding Medicaid and Related Senior Programs
  • Providing Healthy and Safe Choices for Living: Safety; Aging in Place; Affordable Housing;
  • Meeting Transportation Needs; Single Point Access in all Maryland Counties

We think that this will be a stimulating and educational event and enable participants to engage in “democracy in action.” Participants will also meet others with similar interests and learn about new developments.
