Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy seeks applicants

The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International’s (STTI) Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy (GNLA) has become a premier leadership development opportunity to prepare nurses to care for this growing population. To date, this program has changed the lives of Fellows, their Mentors and the 20,000 patients they care for across 20 states.

The newest GNLA cohort is accepting applications from 15 February – 2 April 2012.

The 18-month GNLA is a mentored leadership experience. Each Fellow will select a Mentor who will participate in the GNLA workshops and help guide them through their personalized leadership development journey. GNLA Faculty, all national experts in leadership and/or geriatric nursing, offer a  blended curriculum that provides a multitude of methodologies for developing leadership knowledge and competence with a focus on:

  • Individual leadership development
  • Advancing nursing practice through leadership of an interprofessional team
  • Organizational scope of influence and impact

The GNLA is possible with a grant from The Retirement Research Foundation and additional support from The John A. Hartford Foundation, Hill-Rom and STTI.
