The Baltimore County Consortium for Professional Education in the Field of Aging presents its annual Advocacy Conference on December 6, 2007, from 8:00 – 4:00 at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center, 6501 North Charles Street, Towson, MD. This year’s theme is “Long Term Care for Today and Tomorrow: Creating a Place to Call Home.” The conference offers workshops on Alternatives to Long-Term Care, Level of Care Issues, The Changing Face of Long Term Care: Serving Younger Residents, Workforce Challenges in Long Term Care, Culture Change, and other topics. About Gail Kohn
Ms. Kohn brings with her a wealth of experience and talent in just the areas we desired in our inaugural director. A leader in aging services with more than 25 years experience, Gail most recently was with Linking Partners, LLC, a firm she created and manages. Her clients have included Sunrise Development Corporation, Harvest Housing Corporation and others seeking to change, achieve excellence or in need of an expert witness. From 1986 to 2003 she was CEO of four Collington corporations, including a continuing care retirement community, located in Mitchellville, Maryland, known for its racial inclusiveness, economic diversity and innovative, quality services. In addition to Collington, where she served as the founding executive officer, she was a leader in creating The Beacon Institute with its senior services education and research focus.
