The primary objectives of this education program are to assist social workers and nurses to increase their own knowledge and ability to analyze complex ethical issues that arise in the course of their work.
These objectives will be demonstrated through the following skills:
1. Identify the ethical principles in tension in an ethics case,
2. Discuss how the various ethical theories can apply in a particular ethics case, and
3. Explain why one formalized case analysis strategy may be preferable to another in working through the ethical cases each encounters in his/her work setting.
