WASHINGTON, December 13- Housing professionals working in the 50+ housing market are encouraged to enter the 2007 Best of 50+ Housing Awards, sponsored by The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) 50+ Housing Council. The awards are considered the premier design and marketing competition for the 50+ housing industry, and allow industry professionals to enter their best community designs, model merchandising, and advertising and marketing efforts. Award entrants have until February 23 to submit their entries.
Formerly known as the Best of Seniors Housing awards, the 2007 program includes more than 50 categories covering all aspects of the 50+ housing market. Active adult categories include overall community, clubhouse design, condominium unit design, and model home merchandising. Other design categories include aging-in-place, assisted living, congregate-living community, continuing care retirement communities, mixed-use, multifamily housing, renovated housing and special-needs housing.
“The Best of 50+ Housing Awards offers its winners not only recognition, but a great opportunity to promote their business,” said Bob Tippets, incoming chairman of the NAHB 50+ Housing Council and a builder from Midvale, Utah. “I would highly recommend for anyone involved with the design, marketing, building and development of 50+ housing to consider entering.”
The Best of 50+ Housing Awards’ marketing categories allow builders and sales and marketing professionals to compete against the industry’s best. Individual marketing categories are available for: logo, community brochure, direct mail piece/campaign, Web site, black-and-white and color print advertisement, radio and television commercial, sales center and special promotion.
“The 50+ housing arena is constantly evolving and changing for the better,” said Doug Van Lerberghe, Denver-based architect with KEPHART community planning and chairman of the 2007 Best of 50+ Housing Awards committee. “The Best of 50+ Housing Awards is an opportunity to recognize builders and other professionals who contribute their most inspired efforts to meet the growing needs of this unique market.”
The Best of 50+ Housing Awards gala evening ceremony will be held May 31 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center during Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium 2007.
