CARF”“CCAC encourages public comment on proposed changes to standards

Tucson, AZ “” September 2, 2008 “” CARF International, including the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC), invites public comment on proposed changes and updates to the accreditor’s standards and program descriptions for continuing care retirement communities, assisted living, adult day services, and person-centered long-term care communities (nursing homes).

The public comment period, called a field review, seeks to collect the greatest diversity of feedback possible to ensure that the standards are relevant to the field prior to the standards’ publication in early 2009. Providers, residents, family members, governance authorities, and other interested parties are asked to provide input on these proposed standards revisions.

The proposed standards revisions reflect the work of several International Standards Advisory Committees, comprising providers, consumers, payers, and experts in the respective program areas from around the world.
