Assisted Living/Senior Housing Management & Operations offered at George Mason University
The Program in Assisted Living/Senior Housing Administration at George Mason University will be offering HAP 650 "Assisted Living/Senior Housing Management & Operations" on the Fairfax campus on Monday’s from 4:30-7:20 PM during the Spring 2010 semester. The course begins January 26th.
This course provides an overview of the assisted living/senior housing industry, followed by department-by-department review of industry standards, best practices, and benchmarks for both assisted living and continuing care retirement communities. The course also features leading guest speaker’s from the industry, and a review of technologies and future models of senior housing. The course covers all elements of the information required for the Virginia Assisted Living Administrator’s exam.
Individuals with an undergraduate degree may apply for graduate study for this singular course on a "Non-Degree" basis. Previous assisted living/senior housing experience is welcome, but not required. Students subsequently deciding to pursue either a master’s degree or graduate certificate in assisted living/senior housing may apply the course for degree credit at that time.
