"The George Mason University Program in Assisted Living/Senior Housing Administration will be offering the following course during the Spring 2009 semester, registration for which begins November 19, 2008 and continuing through the end of December:

HAP 650 "Assisted Living/Senior Housing Management & Operations"
Wednesdays:  4:30-7:10 PM.
January 21 through May  6
Fairfax Campus, Innovation Hall, Room 130

This course provides an overview of the rapidly growing senior housing industry and instruction in the day-to-day management of an assisted living or continuing care retirement community. The course features guest lecturer’s from throughout the senior housing industry including Terry Klaassen, Co-Founder of Sunrise Senior Living, as well as available tours of Sunrise Assisted Living at Hunter Mill, Manor Care – Arden Courts of Fairfax, and Greenspring Village Continuing Care Retirement Community.

The course serves as a core offering of the Program’s 15-18 credit hour Graduate Certificate in Senior Housing Administration, however can also be taken as a single "non-degree" course for interested professionals or students.  The Program in Assisted Living/Senior Housing Administration offers the nation’s first and only academic curricula dedicated exclusively to the Senior Housing field.
