Assisted Living Community Installs 196 Solar Panels
The Blakey Hall Assisted Living community in Elon, NC has recently taken advantage of state and federal tax credits by installing a 50kW solar array on the south-facing roof of the community’s main building. Mounted in two phases this year, the 196-panel solar electricity system serves Blakey Hall’s 56 residential units. The system is expected to generate $6,000 to $7,000 per year in power. Blakey Hall’s system is a four-year return on investment, the warranty is for 25 years, and the life expectancy of the unit is 35 to 40 years.
