Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County’s 18th Annual Caregivers’ Conference will have information and practical help for family caregivers, social workers, nurses, and other professionals. The conference will be held April 10 at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center, 119 S. Villa Ave., with doors opening at 9 a.m. for registration, continental breakfast, and time for visits with vendors. The event concludes at 3 p.m.
This year’s topics will provide caregivers with practical tools and legal information.  In addition, caregivers will be offered a chance to network with fellow caregivers, both informal and professional. Vendors from local agencies and businesses will be on hand to share resources and information to assist participants with caregiving needs.

The opening session is “Conquering the Challenges of Change and All That Jazz!” with Linda Barrett, a published author, nationally known speaker, and adjunct faculty member of the Johns Hopkins University.  For over a decade, Linda has been educating, motivating, entertaining and inspiring audiences and her unique mix of music and motivational messages has earned her the moniker, “The Jazz Speaker”.

This event is presented by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, Active Day Centers of Annapolis and Pasadena, the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Maryland, Gero-Resources LLC, and Somerford Place Alzheimer’s Assisted Living. Sponsors include Kris-Leigh Assisted Living and Morningside House of Friendship.

The fee is $10 with Social Work Continuing Education Units (CEUs) awarded for an additional $10. For registration information or to be placed on the mailing list for this and other caregiver programs, e-mail [email protected]; call 410-222-4464, Ext. 3043; or visit online at under Caregivers’ Conference for a registration form.
