2011 Leadership in Aging Celebration
Seabury Resources for Aging will hold its annual Leadership in Aging Celebration on Thursday June 9 at 6 p.m. at the Fannie Mae Building, 3900 Wisconsin Ave., NW, Washington, DC. The evening will include cocktail reception, awards presentation, and auction and will be attended by leading businesses and industry professionals in the field of aging, clergy, lay leaders of local congregations and committed individual donors.
Seabury Resources for Aging established the Leadership in Aging Awards in 2007 to recognize community and national leaders who have furthered Seabury’s mission to help older adults live with independence and dignity and who have provided leadership in improving the quality of life for all older adults in the greater Washington, DC community.
The honorees this year are The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation and David N. Gamse, CEO, of the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA.) The two honorees have played a vital role in supporting the mission of affordable and independent living for older adults in the metropolitan area.
The Morris & Gwendolyn Foundation has been at the forefront of innovations, service delivery system improvements, and a provided a backbone of support for valued programs for older adults.
David N. Gamse has provided vision and leadership as the executive director for JCA for more than 21 years, and serves and the CEO of the National Center for Productive Aging, JCA’s consulting arm. Mr. Gamse has championed productive aging locally, nationally and internationally, helping to improve the lives of older adults throughout the Washington area and beyond.

Since 1924, Seabury Resources for Aging, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, has been providing affordable, personalized services and housing options to help older adults live with independence and dignity. Proceeds will benefit all of Seabury Resources for Aging housing and services and particularly help low income older adults who need care management, meals, housing, care, and help with home maintenance. Seabury serves 1,000 older adults and caregivers each day.
