Throughout her life, Mrs. Georgia Dunlap stressed the importance of education and earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in this field. During her studies at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina, she became a tireless advocate for young people to get a degree from that University.

Mrs. Georgia Dunlap and her daughter, Eleanor Golden, have both received services from P-B Health Home Care Agency to help them remain active and independent.

independent.

As a result of her efforts, her only child, Eleanor Golden, graduated from that same school. In the spring of 2012, the family celebrated the 3rd generation to graduate from Winston-Salem when Georgia’s nephew marked his Commencement there. During the ceremony, Georgia was recognized for her advocacy!

After her own graduation, Georgia taught school for over forty years, purely for the love of children. She was also involved in her church as a Deacon and a leader in the Missionary Department until her health began to fail. Today, she continues her 71-year membership with the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, as well as her membership in the Ebony Hearts bridge club.

Georgia lived in her home in Winston- Salem for decades, even celebrating her 90th birthday there. Although she was surrounded by family and friends in North Carolina, Eleanor was thrilled to welcome her mother into her home in Baltimore last year. Facing increasing health challenges, Georgia knew she would be well cared for in her daughter’s home.

Following a surgery the previous year, Eleanor was referred to P-B Health Home Care Agency for daily, in-home skilled nursing care. “I was very pleased with the quality of care from P-B and had services for several weeks while I convalesced,” she recalled.

Because of this positive experience, Eleanor once again turned to P-B Health shortly after her mother moved in with her. “Reflecting on my previous care, I readily contacted Charlotte Bullock, Outreach Manager at P-B Health Home Care Agency,” she said. “She helped me obtain in-home personal care and chore services for my mother.”

Since obtaining the home health assistance they needed, the two women have not looked back. Eleanor concluded, “PB Health has provided warm, responsible and caring nursing assistants in my home for the past three months, and I recommend them highly.”
