About Mrs. Phillipines Home for Senior citizens
On August 13, 1983, the Zambaleneos of Metropolitan Washington, DC, Inc. dreamed of building an apartment community for the elderly and persons with disabilities. Working with a common vision of peace, charity, and friendship to provide a place where residents may find a comfortable home where they can relax, the Zambaleneo members hoped that with cognitive stimulation through social interaction with peers and activities, premature institutionalization could be prevented.
Mrs. Philippines Home for Senior Citizens opened in May 1991 and has since been fully occupied. As a monument to love and charity, Mrs. Philippines symbolizes character, strength, and commitment to the community.
