Forest Side is nestled in the Chevy Chase neighborhood in the District on Military Road. With a welcoming forest like setting, this 33 apartment assisted living's mission is to provide person centered care addressing the six components of Wellness.

There are four neighborhoods within the building. The focus of the caregiver for each neighborhood is to be engaged with the residents in all aspects of their day: dining, activities, afternoon tea, neighborhood strolls, fostering a level of friendship and understanding. Each neighborhood is equipped with a full kitchen, dining room and comfortable living room with a fireplace. Outdoor enclosed porches, as well a secured courtyard add to the home like setting. Our day spa is available for pampering from head to toe.

Each resident's interests are respected and taken into consideration regardless of their cognitive ability. Trained staff understand the challenges of memory loss and have great sensitivity and compassion for their residents and families. The most important part of each day is to encourage and understand each resident, assisting them to make every opportunity successful as possible.

Cultural, educational, physical, environmental, social and emotional nourishment are what we base our lifestyle upon at Forest Side. “Everything we do is with the purpose of supporting and celebrating the life of each and every resident.”

With 33 private apartments, Forest Side, is a highly specialized care program for residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
