Friendship Terrace Retirement Community has been a cherished home for seniors since 1970. Our community offers the opportunity to live independently with comfort and security. We are nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood just 1+ blocks from upper Wisconsin Avenue and the Tenleytown metro station. Our shuttle bus can take you to department stores, banks, and grocery and drug stores any weekday along Wisconsin Avenue. Whether you drive or rely on public transportation, our location is ideal. There is easy access to museums, parks, and cultural events.

Our modern six-story building has studio and one-bedroom apartments with large airy floor to ceiling windows. Wall-to-wall carpeting and drapes are provided - you just need your own furnishings and your personal touch to make it your home. Small pets welcome. Storage areas, limited off-street parking for residents, a hair salon and laundry facilities available on site. For your peace of mind, we have 24-hour manned security. Residents have many service options.

Come and enjoy the lounges, library, top decks, greenhouse, gardens, and a daily calendar of activities. For convenience, an evening meal is served cafeteria style with lunch and Sunday brunch as an option. With utilities, the evening meal and activities included in the monthly rental Friendship Terrace is the affordable answer to apartment living.

The residents here are friendly and varied in their professional and educational backgrounds, talents, and interests. Some work, others are retired, and many volunteer at Friendship Terrace and throughout the community. Along with the Activities Director, an active Residents' Association arranges many of the entertainment programs, trips, and social functions.
