Keswick Multi-Care Center
About Keswick Multi-Care Center
Keswick Multi-Care Center is a resident-focused facility combining 121 years of care and commitment with a 21st century approach to healthcare. Most accurately described as experienced, charming and personable, Keswick is situated in the heart of Baltimore's Roland Park community and has recently undergone an extensive interior and exterior renovation to update its historic campus and buildings.During the past two years, Keswick has enjoyed the renovation and construction of a new lobby, a new entrance, a new dining facility, a new adult day facility, new administrative offices and newly landscaped grounds, among other updates, which have contributed to a more modern facility within a classic context. The residents and patients at Keswick, benefit from the highest quality long-term and medical care that is provided in a comfortable, pleasant environment.
OFFERINGS:
Keswick Multi-Care Center includes a 199 bed nursing facility for long-term care residents; a 23-bed transitional care unit; and an adult day care facility that currently has 70 adults enrolled.
NURSING FACILITY:
Residents of Keswick's nursing facility Keswick's 199 bed Nursing Care Center (ALL PRIVATE ROOMS) welcomes any person who suffers from a chronic illness or complications of aging which require 24-hour comprehensive nursing and medical care. The Center includes our nationally renowned 18 bed Special Care Unit, which was one of the first units of its kind in Maryland, dedicated to the treatment of dementia.
TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT:
The transitional care unit treats patients with medically-complex care issues that require a higher level of care than a typical long-term care facility can provide. Keswick offers a range of healthcare services to these patients, including pulmonary care, stroke rehabilitation, wound care, infusion therapy, trach care, orthopedic care and hospice care. Keswick's TCU offers private rooms with a bathroom, nursing services, the care of a full-time Medical Director, a dedicated social worker, and therapeutic recreation.
ADULT DAY PROGRAM:
Keswick currently has 98 adults enrolled in the Adult Day program. The program provides stimulating and interesting activities for its participants, such as art, computers, current events, music and more. The Adult Day program provides a safe and comfortable environment for adults whose families are unable to care for them during the day.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Keswick Multi-Care Center is committed to the future of long-term care. To that end, Keswick is in the process of constructing the Henry S. Baker Jr. Building, which will expand Keswick's ability to care for a larger population of long-term care residents. The Baker Building, which will open in 2005, will encompass an expanded transitional care unit and additional nursing home beds. The facility will be a more modern structure that will compliment the existing structures on Keswick's campus. This new building will allow us to respond to the changing needs of Baltimore's elderly population by offering the latest technology along with the quality of care that has been Keswick's hallmark of 121 years.
