Estate Planning & Elder Law Firm, P.C.
About Estate Planning & Elder Law Firm, P.C.
The Estate Planning & Elder Law Firm, P.C. is Metropolitan Washington's premier advocate for elders and their familes.Life Care Planning for Seniors is a complete solution that has evolved as the needs of our clients have grown. The Estate Planning & Elder Law Firm, P.C., has been and continues to be at the forefront of innovation in Elder Law to meet the needs of our rapidly aging population. As opposed to traditional, transactional legal advisors who concentrate on the estate, incapacity and entitlement qualification, our integrated, holistic, elder focused approach helps families plan for, pay for, coordinate and secure quality of care for life. Our firm’s interdisciplinary team of elder law attorneys, elder care advocate, and accomplished staff work together to enhance the quality of life for your loved one.
Guiding Principal # 1 Integrated, Holistic Elder Focused Approach
Our firm has been designed and staffed to offer the advice, counsel and services you need to successfully manage a loved one’s long term care needs. Instead of trying to cobble together a network of independent companies, services and advisors we offer all the help you need at one firm. For example, senior advisors (who can’t meet you legal needs, geriatric services companies (who can’t protect your assets or meet your legal needs) or traditional transactional elder law firms (who don’t provide care coordination) and care advocacy, might otherwise be involved and further complicate the elder’s care process.
Guiding Principle # 2 Promote Quality Care
We help you find and preserve resources that will enable your loved one to live out his/her final years in dignity. Our goal is to use those resources wisely to ensure the best of care for life. We also continue to monitor care and advocate on behalf of the loved ones to insure that the highest level of care is provided and continues as long as necessary.
Guiding Principle # 3 Walk In Your Shoes
Everyone on our staff has personal experience caring for an elderly or disabled individual. From our elder law attorneys to our elder care advocate to our paralegals and staff, we have firsthand knowledge of the challenges, joys and heartbreak that you experience in the long term care journey.
Guiding Principle # 4 Do What Ever It Takes
Your Life Care Plan is structured to give us the maximum flexibility to do whatever is needed to help your loved one age with dignity. Even if you need help dealing with problems beyond long term care or care coordination or legal issues, we connect you with the right professionals to help resolve your issue.
Guiding Principle # 5 Relieve the Burden
Our firm helps you utilize our proven local network of senior professionals. We do not just tell you who to call, we make the call for you. We do not just refer you to a service and leave you to fend for yourself. We are involved with both securing services and monitoring the quality of those services. Our goal is to free you from worries about care.
Guiding Principle # 6 Make The System Work For You
Our nation’s current system of providing care to those who can not care for themselves is broken and dysfunctional. We navigate this maze of overlapping programs for you. Our goal is to insure that the shortcomings of our current system do not impact the elder receiving the best of care.
Guiding Principle # 7 It Is Not Just About The Money
Though many of our clients come to us because their primary concern is protecting their loved one’s assets, they quickly realize that care is the bigger issue. The Life Care Plan frees families to make the most of their remaining time with loved ones by relieving them of the burden, worry and concerns of constant care.
Guiding Principle # 8 You Only Get One Chance
Unless you already have the years of education and experience necessary to become an elder care professional, how are you supposed to know when your aging loved one needs help? When you are faced with this crisis there is no time for mistakes, no room for trial and error. Our firm helps you get it right the first time without unintended consequences suffered by the elder and the family.
Guiding Principle # 9 Aging At Home
Aging at home is the optimal and most cost effective situation that is preferred by our clients. That’s why our firm leaves no option out to help the elder and identify the least restrictive environment where the elder can live safely. Whether the right environment is the elder’s own home, a nursing home or something in between we help you select the best option.
