Responsible for monitoring all aspects of clinical practice infection, control, documentation, and environmental issues for nursing. Routinely conducts audits with the purpose of identifying problems developing corrective action plans implementing those plans and evaluating the results. Works closely with all levels of nursing staff to identify improvement methods in resident care. Must be familiar with all regulations as they pertain to long term care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Is involved in planning and developing of various activities and plans that focus on the residents and family’s satisfaction and positive outcome of case.

1. Develops structures within nursing to promote overall improvement in performance.
2. Measures performance of nursing activities as related to patient care.
3. Routinely assesses level of performance against standards.
4. Reviews assessment to see if change in process brought about improvement.
5. Seeks out problem areas, which need improvement.
6. Monitors all aspects of infection control for staff and residents and develops appropriate policies for infection control monitoring.
7. Provides in-services to all levels of staff on quality assurance and infection control activities.
8. Maintains and develops current nursing policy procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing, Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
