The Neighborhood Guide assumes 24 hour accountability for organizing, planning, directing, evaluating and correcting operations in the Neighborhood. This is a full-time position with a schedule that includes some weekends. Direct, evaluate and supervise the day to day operations of the neighborhood. Oversee the care giving, housekeeping, maintenance, & dietary functions of the Neighborhood. Visit elders and team members on a daily basis. Ensure that mealtime provides a satisfying experience for elders. Oversee activities ensuring that the social needs of the elders are met. Meet with family members ensuring open communication in the resolution of issues & concerns. Coordinate and participate in patient care plan conferences, offering input. Coordinate any transportation needed for elders. Interview and hire for position vacancies within Neighborhood. Conduct regular observations and spot checks within the Neighborhood. Participate in Performance Improvement with staff, initiating corrective measures when problems are identified. Work collaboratively with other neighborhood/villages. Represent Neighborhood at Community meetings. Assist the Administrator in the preparation of budget for the Neighborhood. Bachelor’s degree in management of aging services, or Bachelors degree in Geriatrics or a related field with 2 years of healthcare/long-term care experience including the supervision of staff . Experience may be considered as a substitution for education.  Must be certified C/GNA or obtain it within the first 6 months of employment.
