Salary Range: $56,264 - $103,625.

The Arlington Aging & Disabilities Services Division (ADSD) is seeking a progressive mental health leader for a unique regional mobile mental health program. The employee will supervise and manage operations for RAFT and work closely with regional partners in the Counties of Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William and Loudoun and the City of Alexandria. Clinical services include intensive, multi-disciplinary mental health treatment to adults 65 years and older discharged or diverted from state psychiatric institutions and admitted to long-term care residences.

The program also provides training and education to social workers, nurses and aides practicing in long-term care settings. The employee reports to the ADSD Senior Adult Mental Health Program Manager and is responsible for implementing a successful innovative program in collaboration with the five regional partners identified, including a Regional Oversight Committee.

Specific duties include:
• Hiring, coaching and supervising three (3) mental health therapists, one (1) psychiatric nurse and a part-time contract psychiatrist;
• Managing a $1 million budget and monitoring State grant funds;
• Administering, evaluating and monitoring the program in accordance with the grant proposal, assessing the effectiveness of the clinical services offered, reviewing monthly outcome reports, and making recommendations for changes in service delivery;
• Closely collaborating with State psychiatric hospitals, local private psychiatric hospitals, administrators of nursing homes and assisted living residences, regional coordinators of older adult programs in Community Services Boards, program staff and other community agencies;
• Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for operation of the project;
• Facilitating timely admission and discharge protocols for clients in collaboration with partners;
• Reviewing client treatment plans and assuring that the appropriate mental health care is being provided to clients;
• Monitoring client recordkeeping for compliance with licensure regulations; and
• Reporting monthly on the performance outcomes of the program.

We are seeking an experienced manager who is dynamic, possesses strong clinical and leadership skills and is knowledgeable in the field of aging. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of achievement and innovation in the management and delivery of human services for older adults.

Position requires a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a clinical discipline such as Counseling, Psychiatric Social Work, Psychology, Art Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing, or other directly related clinical discipline, all of which required a clinical practicum involving diagnostic and treatment services plus three years post Master's degree experience in program management, staff supervision and development and direct mental health practice experience in human services.
