Crane's Mill, a Continuing Care Retirement Community, located in West Caldwell, NJ is seeking a dynamic Director of Therapeutic Recreation with strong management skills and enthusiasm to develop programs for our active community. 

Reporting to the Administrator of The Health Center, you will develop, implement and evaluate all recreational programming for Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living, which also has a specialized program for those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.  You will conduct resident assessments, develop care plans, document resident information and actively participate in our IDCP meetings.  You will be responsible for meeting and maintaining all NJDOHSS standard and coordinating all volunteer services.

Qualified candidates must either have or be in the process of receiving their CTRS or ADC by NCCAP standards or a college degree in recreation.  With your three + years of management experience, you will have demonstrated ability to provide direction, motivation and leadership to a staff.   You must multi-task, work independently and are well organized.  We will rely on you to expand job responsibilities, suggest improvements and collaborate with others to generate ideas and improve processes.  You must pitch-in and help with any resident needs.  Your written and oral communication skills, ability to act decisively in emergency situations, maintain confidentiality and commitment to assure that resident rights are protected is critical. Prior experience in LTC is preferred.  You must possess a valid driver’s license.
