Silver Spring, MD—Riderwood, the Erickson Living retirement community, will host the U.S. Navy Band Brass Quartet for a special concert to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
The concert will take place on Wednesday, May 27 at 2pm in the Encore Theater (Lakeside Commons Clubhouse). Sponsored by the resident-led Veterans Legacy Group, the event is free and open to the public.
The musical tribute will also provide attendees with the opportunity to reflect upon and honor the women and men who voluntarily serve our nation in the military.
Formed in October, 1999, the U.S. Navy Band Brass Quartet has shared its music with thousands of people worldwide. The group is led by Chief Musician John P. Schroeder, accompanied by Chief Musician Stanley H. Curtis and Musicians 1st class Philip J. Eberly and Anthony J. Halloin.
In addition to its public performances, the Brass Quartet has provided musical support during official ceremonies at the Pentagon, Navy Memorial, Naval Observatory, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, National Defense University and the Women in Military Service For America Memorial.
