“Tenleytown in the District’s Early Road Network,” will be hosted by Don Hawkins, architect, map enthusiast and author, as a Tenleytown Historical Society presentation at Friendship Terrace Retirement Community. Long before the site of the Federal City was selected, most of the roads that would connect it with the nation had already been developed to serve local needs. Many of them have been absorbed into the city’s modern road system. This program will trace the paths and histories of those roads that led to Tenleytown’s development beginning at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, January 29th. This program is free and open to the public. For more information and to reserve a seat, contact the Tenleytown Historical Society at [email protected]. Seabury at Friendship Terrace Retirement Community is located at 4201 Butterworth Place, NW in Washington, DC, just two blocks from the Tenleytown Metro station on the Red Line. Seabury at Friendship Terrace provides 180 affordable, independent living apartments for active seniors.
