“Active with Dementia” with speaker Patty Hagen,CTRS,MBA/MHA.
Patty puts her recreation therapist skills to good use in a lively, interactive session that will help
you sharpen your skills in keeping a person living with dementia feeling calmer and more
successful. During this session, you will be introduced to at least five programs appropriate for
small groups or individual sessions, and four sets of symptoms to be aware of related to dementia.
Patricia Hagen is Director of Alzheimer’s/ Dementia Programs for Charles E. Smith Life Communities. Her 20 years’ experience in recreation and health spans settings for traumatic brain injury, rehabilitation, independent living, assisted living and long-term care.
This program offers 1 Category I CEU for social workers
and administrators and 1 CEU for activity directors
certified by NCCAP.
The Beacon Institute is an approved provider ofcontinuing education by the Maryland Board of Social
Work Examiners. The Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners certifies that this program meets the criteria for 1 credit hour of Category I continuing education for social workers licensed in Maryland.
