Social workers, nursing home administrators and assisted living managers can earn 1.5 CEUs by attending “Complementary Therapies,” a free continuing education seminar. The program will be presented by Montgomery Hospice and will feature Complementary Therapies Manager Sandra Lavengood and Certified Nurse Aromatherapists Cathy Mitchell and Joan Feffer.
Complementary therapies are natural interventions that invite connection through the senses, including touch, music and aroma. Participants will learn how complementary therapies are used in hospice and discover the relevance of clinical aromatherapy in the health arena. Professionals will also learn how to offer a lavender oil hand massage as a tool in their toolbox and how complementary therapies can play a role in their own self-care.
The seminar will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and optional campus tours will be offered to guests at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP by March 17 to Brooke Grove Retirement Village Director of Marketing Toni Davis at 301-388-7209 or [email protected].
