Creating a welcoming environment for aging members of the LGBT community is critically important. On Tuesday, October 7th, Seabury Resources for Aging Care Management and Specialty care Services will offer a FREE C.E.U. Seminar, “Aging in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community: Overcoming Ageism and Heterosexism” at Seabury at Friendship Terrace in Northwest Washington starting at 9:00 AM and continuing till noon. The featured speakers will be Dr. Imani Woody and Jane Lincoln, LICSW, both recognized speakers on this topic. The seminar’s objective is to increase awareness of and to explore best practices in addressing the unique issues confronting those aging in the LBGT community that will untimately enable LBGT seniors to age with dignity. This is an approved as a 3.0 Category I Credit class for Social Workers. A complimentary continental breakfast and lunch will be proveded. The class is FREE.
