Have you recently experienced an early stage of dementia? Do you want to know more and learn how to cope? Are you the spouse, partner, child or friend of someone recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease of other dementias? We can help.
This unique 8 week program meets on consecutive Wednesday evenings for an hour and a half. Both the person with dementia and the care-partner(s) attend together. There are two parts to the meeting. The first part is educational in nature and will cover such topics as definition of the diseases, progression, legal and financial issues and available resources. Subsequent to the education session, participants split into two groups; one for those with the diagnosis and the other for the care-partners. These groups provide education and support specific to the needs of the group.
Professionals with experience in this program and for supporting those impacted by dementia will be the presenters and leaders.
There is no fee for this program. However, those interested are asked to call to register. We also ask that if agree to participate that you make every effort to attend each session.
