Definition of the disease, an overview of current theories of cognitive impairment, identification of early onset dementia symptoms, practical approaches to medication and non-medication management of older adults, the neuropsychological exam and its use in the diagnosis and monitoring. An interdisciplinary team approach to rehabilitation and management of an individual with dementia to help them maintain maximum independence for as long as possible. Discuss family involvement, education support along with techniques used to prevent and manage aggressive behaviors. Updates on dementia as well as updates on medication. Also included Case Studies.
