Join us to hear Dr. P. Murali Doraiswamy of Duke University Medical Center, Head of Duke University Biological Psychiatry Division, Senior Fellow at Duke’s Center for the Study of Aging and Co-author of The Alzheimer’s Action Plan as he discuss recent diagnostic breakthroughs as well as the most effective treatments. He will also address the most common misconceptions about Alzheimer’s disease, share information on how to postpone the onset of memory loss and answer audience questions. He says the two biggest misconceptions about dementia are “It’s just aging” and “It’s untreatable, so we should just leave the person alone.” Both of these misconceptions are remnants of an outdated view that hinders families from getting the best diagnosis and best care.
