9:00am-12:15pm “Embracing Diversity and Better Serving Your Patients & Clients as a Team”
Effective, focused teams work together to provide the best care for their patients and clients. Patients and clients of various cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, religions and sexual orientations are admitted to our healthcare facilities each day; we need to be prepared to care for them sensitively. Understanding the diverse backgrounds of our clients as well as awareness of our own cultures promote better clinical outcomes. During this interactive training program, participants will take part in team building activities and assessments highlighting awareness of diversity’s impact on teamwork and clinical relationships. This program will also focus on the importance of diverse viewpoints and skills in working as a team. 3 Category 1 Social Work Credits

1:15pm-4:15pm “Know Thy Patient, Know Thyself”
Healthcare professionals, especially social workers, are masters at helping patients and clients but often neglect their own basic needs. This leads to burnout, career disappointment as well as poor clinical outcomes for clients. This interactive self-awareness program employs numerous assessments and quizzes that will help healthcare professionals identify how to better care for themselves with strategies that we automatically use to help our patients and clients. An open mind and the willingness to examine personal and professional goals are keys to enjoying and benefiting from this seminar. 3 Category 1 Social Work Credits
